A RARE .31 MANHATTAN SERIES II POCKET REVOLVER WITH ORIGINAL HOLSTER AND BELT, CIRCA 1860, no visible serial number,
with 4in. octagonal barrel, the top flat marked 'MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS MF'G CO. NEW YORK', with Colt type under barrel loading lever, open top foliate engraved frame, stamped on the underside 'PATENTED DECEMBER 27 1859', six shot cylinder etched with stagecoach scene and twelve cylinder stops, two piece walnut grips; complete with its original black leather holster and belt fitted with a brass buckle with cast initial's 'A. D.'? in a semi wreath to the centre, some distressing to the capping cut-out and some small traces of finish in protected areas, the belt and holster crazed and worn overall, the belt partly broken in one area

Provenance: The Manhattan was a direct copy of the Colt, this series II pocket model was produced 1859 to 1862 with a total production of 4800 of both the series I and series II. Revolvers such as this with their period holster and belt are exceptionally rare
